You must enroll online for all the courses at http://hsa.sport.uni-augsburg.de
Please note: SEPA
Since the start of 2014, when SEPA was introduced, we require the following: For your registration or booking you must provide your IBAN (see cash card or bank statement) as well as your email-address. To set up the direct debit procedure, we need your authorization (mandate) with an original signature (you must give your bank details to the sponsor association separately, because it is a different payee). If you do not receive a valid mandate, it will be produced by the system along with the booking confirmation. Please print out this mandate and either bring it to our HAS- office, send it to us, or drop it into our mandate letterbox without delay.
If we have not received your mandate within 8 days, your booking will expire and someone else will get your place on the course.
Payment via direct debit only– bank transfer is not possible!
Payment will take place online using direct debit after you have registered for your desired courses. Please make sure that there is sufficient money in your account, and that the necessary mandate (see SEPA) is submitted to us immediately. Failure to do this will result in your booking being cancelled automatically and your place on the course will be given to someone else. We cannot accept credit transfers for administrative reasons. Objections concerning the payment method will lead to exclusion from university sports courses because all registrations after the cancellation deadline day are binding!
Courses during the semester: Please observe the cancellation deadline.
Courses during the holidays: Cancellations are not possible due to short duration of courses.
Courses during semester breaks
Will be uploaded in good time on our homepage.
Sport Institute Opening Times
Monday – Friday: 7.45 – 22.30
Saturday, Sunday, holidays: 15.00 – 22.30
HSA-office Opening Times
Monday – Thursday: 9.00 – 12.00
You need to pay course fees (if not described otherwise) once per semester. The fees for the semester break period will be announced in the corresponding semester break.
Price of Participation Fees
Students: € 11.00 (no longer have to pay participation fees because they are covered by grants!)
Employees and their relatives: € 16.00
Sponsor association members: € 26.00
Paying the participation fees entitles you to use the sport centre’s outdoor facilities: i.e. the running track and the Finnish track (woodchip trail), the tennis wall, the hard courts, as well as the toilets and changing room facilities. Courses which do not entail additional fees are covered by the participation fees alone and these must be paid once per semester. The “free training” (“freie Training”) during the semester break is also covered by the participation fees. If you book courses which do require an additional fee, this means that you have to pay the participation fees and the course fee. The course fee then applies for the duration of the course for the whole time period described in the course details.
Who is eligible to participate?
All fully matriculated students, as well as full-time employees of the University of Augsburg and of the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences are permitted to participate.
Furthermore, employees’ partners and children as well as sponsor association members (Alumni with valid identity) are allowed to participate on the courses. You have to be able to prove your eligibility at all times. You can do this by presenting your participation permit plus your student identity card or your employer ID or your personal identity card. When applying for the courses, employees of Augsburg University and the University of Applied Sciences have to book the course 02222 once per semester. Sponsor association members have to book the course 01111. Both of these “courses” are found under “Kursangebote – weitere Kursangebote” (which is German for: courses on offer – additional courses on offer) and then under T (which stands for Teilnahmeentgelt in German and means participation fees). The procedure of applying for those two courses first (02222 and 01111) is a precondition for applying for the sports courses and therefore they have to be booked in advance.
Print out the “Teilnahme-Ticket” (participation permit) after booking, so that you can always verify you are eligible when required.
Should there be any problems concerning registration, the secretary is available for questions via e-mail. It is easier to use your own PC when registering via the internet, but of course you can also use the universities’ CIP room. There are no advantages or disadvantages either way as all systems are equally valid.

If your bank account does not hold sufficient funds for the direct debit, or we do not receive the mandate (authorization) with an original signature, the booking will be cancelled automatically and the course place will be given to someone else. By paying the participation fees you are also accepting the terms and conditions as set out in the University sport program.
The data entered for registration purposes is used and saved solely for the administration of participants and courses. We guarantee that the data will not be passed on or sold to others.

Important: After the cancellation deadline your registration is binding
When courses cannot take place
We always try to find replacement dates if one off courses cannot take place. However, it can happen that it is not possible to find a replacement date for one-off courses which take place outdoors and are cancelled owing to bad weather. We cannot find replacement dates for courses which have to be cancelled during the holidays.
Liability and accident insurance
The State of Bavaria, the Sports Department of the University of Augsburg and its employees can only be held liable for insurance claims when damage or injury was caused deliberately or negligently! This restriction concerning liability does not apply to any violations of the legal contractual obligations either to damages /injuries to life, body or health, or to claims concerning the Product Liability Law or when one partner deliberately caused harm. Our insurance does not cover injuries inflicted on a third party’s person or damages to their belongings during sport activities. Therefore, we recommend you to get a personal liability insurance.
Fully matriculated students are covered in the event of an accident by Germany’s statutory accident insurance for universities (GUV) during participation of all university sports courses, but not during unauthorised sporting activities. This cover is only valid for courses organised by Augsburg University Sports Department. Courses organised by external organisers (e.g. clubs) are not covered by our statutory accident insurance.
Important: when doing training independently at the sports centre, the climbing wall or the sport centre’s gym, you are not covered by the university’s accident insurance. I such activities you are acting under your own jurisdiction.
Accidents have to be reported to the sport centre’s secretary (Ms Heidi Groth) within 3 days. There is no additional insurance for employees of the University or the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg apart from the statutory university accident insurance. Course trainers/teachers with a valid teaching contract are insured via the ARAG sports insurance which covers liability and accidents during group activities.
We are not liable for theft or lost articles – please do not leave valuables in the changing rooms!
Employees of Augsburg University or the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, as well as their partners and children, are eligible to participate in collegiate sports. Each course can only cater for a limited number of participants.
Registration as follows:
1) Homepage > “Kursangebot” > participation fees Employee > book course > Status: “MitarbeiteriIn Uni Augsburg/ Hochschule” > send.
After following this registration procedure, you will be eligible to apply for the desired sports course. Print out the participation permit after booking the course and always carry it with you, so you can prove your eligibility at any time when required.
The Sponsor Association enables former students (Alumni) of Augsburg University or the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg to participate in collegiate sports. You must provide proof of having studied at either university when required. Further information can be found at the University Sports Department Office (Hochschulsport Sekretariat) or under “Förderverein”. To register for courses, you must first click on “Förderverein” and pay the participation fees of € 26,00 (Course-number 01111). You will find this “course” under "Kursangebote – weitere Kursangebote" (courses on offer and additional courses on offer) and then under “T” (which stands for participation fees). After doing this you can apply for any other course (but still have to pay the additional costs if necessary). Beyond that no other formalities are required. After the semester is over, your membership terminates automatically.
New course trainers/teachers
As there have been various incidents in the past, we would also like to point out here as well that you must follow all instructions by the supervisory staff. Please remember to observe the house rules at all times. Smoking is prohibited everywhere in the grounds of the sports centre. Furthermore, please do not take glass bottles with you outside or into the gyms and other indoor facilities.
During the opening hours, you can train independently on the Finnish track (it is floodlit in the evenings), the running track and at the tennis wall. If you have obtained permission, you can also use the fitness room. You can optain this permission by participating in a collegiate sports course or by attending a briefing given by a qualified coach.
You have to register to be allowed to use the climbing walls independently. The University accident insurance (GUV) does not cover this activity. If you use of the climbing walls you do so under your own risk and under your own jurisdiction. Climbing is a sport which requires prudence at all times and a responsible individual approach. There is always the risk of a fall or injury. For this reason you have to know and be capable of using the official safety techniques acknowledged by the DAV(National German Alpine Society). Every climber and securing person is responsible for his/her choice of securing technique and safety precautions. For questions about climbing rules please refer to the head of this sports department.
